At Toorak College, we believe in nurturing young learners so they can develop their sense of self and connection to others while exploring the world around them.

A play-based approach to playgroup, located on the Mornington Peninsula.

Within our supported playgroups, we foster a diverse and enriching play-based program that enables children to explore all facets of the Early Years Learning Framework. In every session, children actively engage in a variety of play activities, sparking their imagination, creativity, and curiosity. These activities encompass a rotation of science experiments, dramatic play, music and movement, creative art, as well as indoor and outdoor play, including nature play.

Playgroup serves as a platform where children and their families can make friends and share connections, establishing one of their first and most crucial social networks. At the conclusion of each session, we gather for group time, where we read stories and sing songs to encourage children to further connect with each other and their surroundings. This holistic approach not only nurtures a child's early development but also contributes to their overall wellbeing.

In Playgroup for Term 2 there will be a focus on continuing creative arts and sensory exploration. There will also be a focus on movement, encouraging gross motor skills, cross patterning and coordination.

*Parents are required to attend Playgroup with their child and participation is encouraged.
