Sport

With a proud and rich history of sporting success at Toorak College, participating in sport has always been an integral part of our school culture. From water sports, equestrian, aerobics, and over 25 sports on offer, we pride ourselves on providing the best environment where our girls not only feel valued and empowered playing sport but thrive in it too.

With recent studies revealing that many Australian girls lack the confidence and drive to participate in sport, we are proud that Toorak girls continue to buck the trends, with over 84% of our senior school students participating in our sport program.

At Toorak College, we provide a first rate program of sporting opportunities for all students within the school community.  The sport program provides pathways for the pursuit of individual and team excellence and promotes lifelong participation in physical activity.  Students are encouraged to take the opportunity to develop, through sport, their sense of community, analytical thinking, teamwork and leadership skills, as well as improving their health and well-being through participation in regular physical activity.

Women in sport defy the misperception that they are weak or incapable. Every time they clear a hurdle or kick a ball, demonstrating not only physical strength, but also leadership and strategic thinking, they take a step towards gender equality.
