Toorak College outstanding NAPLAN results

Toorak College has achieved record NAPLAN results and has seen significant gains in state ranking moving from 82nd to 39th place of all Victorian primary schools and from 60th to 25th place of all Victorian secondary schools.

Toorak College has achieved record NAPLAN results and has seen significant gains in state ranking moving from 82nd to 39th place of all Victorian primary schools and from 60th to 25th place of all Victorian secondary schools. The latest data, uploaded to the My School site was released based on the 2019 NAPLAN results acknowledging amazing results achieved by Toorak College. Toorak College ranked the third best performing primary school in the Southern Melbourne region where the school wide average score was 517.2. The Year 3 and Year 5 Toorak NAPLAN average exceeded the National average in Reading, Writing, Grammar and Numeracy and the Year 7 Toorak NAPLAN average exceeded the National average in Reading, Writing and Grammar. Toorak College principal, Mrs Kristy Kendall, was ecstatic with the results “We’ve been working for several years,” she said. “We all had little tears in our eyes when the results were announced. The validation is great.” Mrs Kendall said she put the success down to focusing on skills development over content. “We develop students’ abilities to inquire, to organise information in the brain,” she said. “It will serve students well through the rest of their lives.” Mrs Kendall added.
